Recent and Current Weather

Almost daily afternoon storms in area.  Sunny and 91F today.

Description of Area (Include plant and animal/insect life)

There is a small number of minnows in the basin.  Lack of other fish could be attributed to the numerous people and pets in the water and surrounding areas.  Grass is beginning to grow between the sidewalk and water.  There is a lot of algae present on submerged rocks.

Description of Water (Include aquatic plant and animal/fish life)

The water is clear except when the bottom is disturbed by swimmers.  The water level is low again.

Cave Species Counts:

The cave was not entered.

Date and Time of E. Coli Count: 6/27/08 @ 5:30 PM     E. Coli (purple w/wo pink halo):  0/100 ml

Non-Fecal Coli (pink, light pink): 0/100 ml      Other Bacteria (teal/pale/yellow/clear):  0/100 ml

Implications and questions:  Because we currently lack enough results to track trends, no true conclusions can be wrought from the data.  As more tests are completed, trends should become visible.  While the bacterial counts were all zero, I have to doubt the validity of the test.  Further testing and observation are needed.
