Recent and Current Weather
|
We’ve had daily rain in the
area for the past 23 days. However,
it’s possible that no rain has fallen in the past two days at this
spring. It’s sunny and clear today,
with temps in the low 80s. |
Description of Area (Include plant and animal/insect
life)
|
Royal is now a county park,
and improvements are in process.
Vegetation grows to the water’s edge.
There is a large-scale farm less than one mile away, and several
irrigation stations were in operation as we passed by. Insect and song bird life is plentiful
today. |
Description of Water (Include aquatic plant and
animal/fish life)
|
The water in the basin is
thick-looking and green. There is a
thick layer of algae on the western rim of the basin. The water level is up about one foot from a
month ago. There are a few bluegills
visible from the surface, and several algae-covered turtles are sunning
themselves. *Note: the sample was taken from the basin. Also, when tests are not done (like BOD or
flow), testers use the full range of Q-Values to figure total WQI (which is
why they are exhibited as a range of numbers). In this case, I would probably lean more
toward the lower number. |

Implications and questions: Because
we currently lack enough results to track trends, no true conclusions can be
wrought from the data. As more tests are
completed, trends should become visible.
Please see notes above.
